Walk MS Teams are a group of people united in the effort to create a world free of MS. Anyone can join the movement - schools, corporations, friends, family, places of worship, etc. Teams are a great way for people to promote teamwork and camaraderie.

Walk MS Team Benefits

The benefits of Walk MS Teams are countless. Besides helping the 18,000 Ohioans living with MS, teams are a great way to promote pride and spirit in your team. As well, Walk MS teams create unique marketing and publicity for your organization at a relatively low cost.

Team captains and members play a crucial role in Walk MS. Throughout the Walk MS experience, there are several Team Weeks that are used to promote recruitment. Only teams are eligible for the great Team Week prizes. Additionally, teams will have all-access to the online fundraising tools and will receive their own newsletters that will help take their fundraising efforts to the next level.

Matching Gifts

How do you "cash in" on this incentive? Prior to the Walk MS 2008, go to your Human Resource Department and pick up a Matching Gifts Contribution form and turn it in with your pledges.

Your company may match your self-contributions or contributions from your co-workers. Matching gifts must be applied for through the company and then sent to the Ohio Buckeye Chapter office for verification.

The advantages of using Matching Gifts as part of your pledges are:

1. You can potentially double the amount of money you turn in and qualify for larger incentives.
2. Those individuals that sponsor you can take advantage of this as well, adding dollars to your pledges.
3. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society will be able to fund more research, programs and education with the funds received from Matching Gifts, aiding us in our mission to move toward a world free of MS.

This is a benefit your company offers; why not use it?

Note: If you or one of your sponsors are using matching gifts, please make sure your name is somewhere on the form so that we can credit the gift properly. Also, if you are submitting Matching Gift Applications over the web, please mail or include a printed copy with your pledges.

Your company doesn't match? Just ask.

If your company does not match, ask your supervisor if they are willing to match your donation for Walk MS. Many employers like seeing their employees contributing to charitable organizations and may reward you with a donaton on their behalf.
